The Volvo S40 rejuvenates

The S40 also undergoing a new facelift in order to move towards a younger customer who appreciates the quality of finish and refinement available in cars of the Swedish brand. The new S40 is close to the last flag luxury Volvo, the S80 while the new V50 is related to the new Volvo V70 in the words of President Fredrik Arp.

The United Kingdom, Spain, Germany and Sweden are the largest S40 markets in Europe. The target for new Volvo V50 is 70,000 cars annually. Here 85 per cent of sales are in Europe, including Germany, Sweden, Britain, Italy and the Netherlands are the largest markets. The Volvo S40 and V50 represent one third of total sales volume in 2007, playing a key role in reinforcing the Volvo brand.
